Time Tracking

What is Time Tracking?

Time tracking lets you record the time spent on projects and tasks. You can log your working hours automatically using a timer or manually through a form. This feature is available on Solo and all higher plans.

Timer

The timer allows you to track your working hours in real time. Use the timer widget in the top toolbar to select a project and optionally a task, then click the start button. While the timer is running, a live duration indicator is displayed at the top of the screen. Click the stop button when you are done to save the entry.

TipThe timer records a minimum of 1 minute; shorter durations are not saved.

Manual Entry

Use manual entry to log past work. Click the Manual Entry button on the time tracking page and fill in the form.

Entry List

Time entries are displayed in a list view. You can filter by date, project, and status. Each entry can be in one of four states: draft, submitted, approved, or rejected. Draft entries can be edited or deleted.

Billable Entries

You can mark time entries as billable and set an hourly rate. Billable entries are highlighted separately in reports and are used to calculate the amount to be charged to the client.

WarningInterns and assistants cannot see the billable and hourly rate fields.
